Welcome to the 2024-25 school year!

Welcome to Central Road School!

Home of the Wolves!

Known for its friendliness and warmth, Central Road is home to nearly 500  kindergarten through sixth-grade students. This modern facility, built in 1995 with an additional six classrooms added in 2000, lends itself well to the educational process and teamwork with pods of classrooms.

The staff at Central Road is committed to providing all children with a quality education and giving them the necessary tools and strategies to be successful both inside and outside the classroom. Learning targets are reviewed prior to each lesson, which keeps students focused on the specific concepts being taught. Small group instruction provides differentiation and allows for explicit instruction, so each student grows at their instructional level. Students are both supported and challenged across all subject areas.

Technology is utilized as a tool for learning every day at Central Road. Chromebooks provide students with the opportunities to connect to real-world learning experiences while creating and collaborating with others.

To measure our growth, we utilize several data sources. MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) is one tool that is used to help us assess student and school academic growth. MAP data is used in a variety of ways, including helping students and teachers create individual action plans in the area of reading and math.

Central Road prides itself for receiving Platinum recognition from the State of Illinois for its implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). Our data shows that students are Respectful, Responsible and Safe. The staff is proactive and teaches the expected behaviors. We celebrate our success monthly and through individual incentives.

We welcome your questions and invite you to visit our school. For more information, or to arrange a visit, please contact us at (847) 963-5100.
